Black Dresses – Peaceful as Hell

black dresses

Not gonna lie Anthony Fantano put me on to Black Dresses who have since disbanded since releasing Peaceful as Hell earlier this year. I can only really describe it as as electronic industrial noise punk rock hehe. It’s a hidden gem in the strange year of 2020. OH yeah, you can only listen to it on YouTube or bandcamp.

TV Girl – The Night in Question: French Exit Outtakes

tvgirlfrench

I made it a goal to finally see TV girl in 2020. “Well that’s too damn bad…” Yo, anyway. This album slaps so hard. I mean like, the way david thinks this slaps, you know? TV girl is so consistent it’s not even funny. This album has everything: cigarettes, oddly satisfying samples, and LA. I’m starting to think I only listen to bands that have “girl” in the band name.

Tei Shi – La Linda

TEISHI_LALINDA

Tei Shi captivated me with her 2013 Saudade – EP. A little late but 2019 La Linda is worth a listen for 1 main reason: Dev Hynes. I respect her craft and all but damn what a masterpiece she was able to put together with Blood Orange on the song “Even if it Hurts.” It’s the only song on the album that truly pops off in a dazzlingly soft and beautiful way.

Metronomy – Metronomy Forever

metronomyforever_metronomy

I believe this is the first time I mention Metronomy. They are definitely an underrated and versatile group of electropop misfits from England. If you haven’t checked them out then please do. Discography on fire. Metronomy Forerver came out in 2019 but the music video for “The Light” came out like a week ago. Hella nice. Hella worth falling in love with.
